Cookies
“Cookies” are small files that a website sends to an Internet user’s browser, and the browser returns them to the server when you visit the website again, identifying the user. Thus, a website can e.g. customizes ads, records visit history, saves settings and usernames and passwords… – collects various, including personal information about the user.
The new Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-1) requires that every website that uses cookies provide the user with the following information:
- what cookies it contains,
- for what purpose they are collected and
- the manner of their use.
